Charity Challenges

Whether you bungee jump, take part in a sponsored event, get your baking or craft on, or achieve something remarkable such as completing a marathon, every penny you raise will give someone experiencing homelessness the peace of mind that their belongings are safe and accessible to them, whenever they need them.

We really encourage you to choose whatever you feel comfortable with, so you could choose to skip, dance, game, walk, play in a band, run, cycle or jump (to name a few!) to help us change the lives of people experiencing homelessness in London and around the UK.

We are the only charity of our kind in the country so be part of something unique!

Who is doing what in 2025?

Starting us off is Ben and the LLHM!

Ben braved the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Street Storage on the 6th of April. It was a fab atmosphere on the day and even with a bad knee, he still managed to achieve a personal best!

URC's Year of Fundraising

The lovely people at the United Reformed Church (URC) have chosen us as their Charity of the Year!
This means they'll be raising much-needed (and much-appreciated) donations for us in various ways and we will be engaging their employees around who we are and what we do throughout the year .
They’ve already kicked things off with a Pancake Day fundraiser, and we’re excited to see what’s next!
Amy's Muddy Good Deed

Amy, a Clinical Psychologist with the START Team (homelessness outreach community mental health team across Lambeth, Southwark and Croydon who we know well), is taking on the ultimate challenge: Tough Mudder London West 2025!
She’s doing it with her collegues who are raising money for another amazing organisation too. She’ll be braving electric shocks, tackling tricky obstacles, and wading through mountains of mud, all to raise vital funds for Street Storage.

We didn't start the fire 🔥

But Simon our Fundraising Manager, Lilian our Frontline Administrator and Gary a friend of Street Storage are walking on it….
On the 10th of May they’ll be walking barefoot across hot coals to raise money for Street Storage!
They’re already off to a flying start, with a big boost from Gary’s early efforts. We can't wait to cheer them on as they take on this fiery challenge!

Penny Runs Cambridge

Penny started the year for us on a high and ran the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd March. She got some brillant action shots of the event which we shared on socials to celebrate.
Mandip's Charity Fast.

During the month of Ramadan in 2024, Mandip organised a charity fast at her workplace, Aspen Insurance, one of our corporate supporters. Colleagues were given the option to participate in the fast and/or contribute through donations. Such a creative fundraising idea!
Susie Strikes Again.... but this time with Ben!

Susie supported Street Storage for the second time in three years, but this time with her friend Ben. They battled some wild weather conditions, but that didn’t stop them from completing the Yorkshire Peak Challenge (24 miles in 12 hours) in September 2024.
A Kiran Abroad

Kiran (our Trustee, who’s an expert in all things Data and Compliance) ran the Berlin Marathon in September 2024. He also ran another two marathons last year - all with a leg injury… now that’s impressive (or dangerous!)
Comms for Good - Shooting Hoops

Last year we were lucky enough to be chosen along with Shelter From The Storm for Comms for Good’s latest fundraising campaign at the 2024 Fintech Festival. Arcade basketball was chosen as the fundriasing activity (!) and Simon and Lilian went down to have a go!
Daniella's Birthday Bake

Daniella gathered her friends for a birthday celebration at the Green Area in Walthamstow in December 2024, where she baked some fantastic treats to raise money for us. Delicious!

Why join Team Street Storage?

London saw a rise of 32% of people sleeping on the street in 2023 from the previous year (Rough sleeping snapshot in England: Autumn 2023).

At Street Storage we are seeing the impact of this first hand. We welcome people who experience homelessness in many ways, and as a result also experienced a 46.46% increase in referrals between beginning and end of 2024.

Your fundraising efforts allow us to continue to sustain and improve the services we provide to those experiencing homelessness, ensuring that more people have access to our storage and advocacy support. The consistent increase in referrals proves that Street Storage is becoming more and more vital to the homelessness community.
